Hunting down holiday lights

Graduate team to help aspiring artists market their talent

The event, affectionately called SAM for short, will be held Saturday, Nov. 22nd in Casey Moore’s parking lot from 2-6 p.m. Graduate students, Kara Chesser, Mollie Flanagan, Ashley Laverty, Shelby Maticic and Emily May, all of whom are Master of Fine Arts students, will oversee the event.

The "basic" problem with labels

Nursing senior Paige Ramirez doesn’t have time for labels. “If I am a ‘basic bitch’ because I love Pumpkin Spice Lattes, then I guess I really don’t care,” she says.

What are your pregame traditions?

SPM asks students what traditions they have before a game in order to ensure a Sun Devil win. “Actually I am the secretary of the student alumni association and I’m super involved.

Embracing life outside the shadows

The saying that those with whom you surround yourself has a direct impact on you is just as apparent as the notion that the environment in which you live has a direct correlation with the life you choose to live. My friends and I recently decided to take a well-needed road trip to Flagstaff.

Q&A: Sun Devil Marching Band

Interdisciplinary studies junior and tuba player Matt Bransfield provides a peek into life on the ASUSDMB. Political science alumnus and trumpet player Ashton Jackson played with the band during this year's homecoming game and remembers her days on the line.

A pyramid of spirit

ASU’s Spirt Squad is a co-ed cheerleading team that helps create an ecstatic environment. Sparky’s Crew is the men’s stunting side of the squad. These eight men help motivate the crowd and are the muscles in the Spirit Squad.
