An ASU East student died of severe head injuries last Saturday night after he crashed a motorcycle into a retaining wall at Main campus the morning before.
Brent Decibero, 21, was taken off life support after his family arrived at Scottsdale Osborne Hospital Saturday, ASU spokesman Keith Jennings said.
Decibero was test driving a friend's motorcycle last Friday at about 7:40 a.m. when he apparently stalled at the Lemon Street and McAllister Avenue stop sign. When he restarted the engine, the motorcycle apparently "got away from him," Jennings said.
According to police, the motorcycle hit a retaining wall at the Law Library, and Decibero flew off the bike, hitting the library's west retaining wall.
He appeared to not be wearing a helmet, and police do not suspect drug or alcohol use, Jennings said.
Decibero, from Boston, was also an Army ROTC cadet at ASU East.
