ASU police reported the following incidents Thursday:
An unknown person attempted to take a parked vehicle from Lot 59. Someone tried to hot-wire the car by cutting different cords and attempting to put them together in differently. Total estimated loss is $100.
An unknown person committed criminal damage to the F Wing of the Engineering building. The person blocked the drains in the second floor woman's restroom and caused it to over flow, damaging the first floor ceiling. Total estimated damage is $800.
Tempe police reported the following incidents Thursday:
A 24-year-old male transient was arrested for attempted manslaughter in the 600 block of West Hardy Drive. He reportedly stepped between a boyfriend and girlfriend having an argument and fired a semi-automatic handgun at the boyfriend. The victim suffered from two gunshot wounds to the leg.
A 21-year-old Tempe man was arrested for aggravated assault at the intersection of 47th Street and Chambers Road. The man allegedly ran over the victim with a car during a physical fight.
A 40-year-old Tempe man was arrested for domestic violence and assault in the 800 block of South Farmer Drive. The man reportedly pushed open a door and caused it to strike his wife in the face.
A 22-year-old Tempe man was arrested for domestic violence and assault in the 1200 block of East Lemon Road. He reportedly slapped his girlfriend twice with an open hand. They were arguing about how to punish their daughter for not eating her corn.
A 24-year-old Tempe man was arrested for shoplifting at the Mervyn's on 800 E. Southern Ave. He allegedly attempted to take a pair of Nike Air Tight II basketball shoes, valued at $70, from the store.
