Police Beat: Mesa man reckless with AK-47


ASU police released the following incidents Thursday:

A burglary was reported at Armstrong Hall. A cash box containing $80 was taken from the top drawer of a desk.

A burglary was reported in Parking Area 63. A car stereo from a 1997 Ford Thunderbird was taken and pry marks were found around the passenger windows. Total estimated loss is $275.

A theft was reported in the Stauffer Communications building. A student said her wallet was stolen from her purse, which contained four credit cards. One of the cards has been used twice since it was stolen.

A theft was reported in the Architecture North building. A computer with a Japanese character keyboard was stolen from an office. Total estimated loss is $200.

A bike was stolen from outside the Computing Commons. Total estimated loss is $30.

Tempe police released the following incidents Thursday:

A 23-year-old Mesa man was arrested for disorderly conduct and weapon endangerment in the 100 block of South McKemy Road. He reportedly was being reckless by firing an AK-47 into the air.

An 18-year-old homeless man was arrested for burglary in the 1500 block of North Sunset Drive. He allegedly admitted to burglarizing a house three times after a video was obtained of him in the third burglary.
