A panel of renowned Jewish political leaders gathered at Hillel Jewish Student Center on Tuesday to discuss issues with ASU students.

The Hillel Jewish Student Center hosted "Jews in Politics: A Conversation" Tuesday night at the Hillel Jewish Student Center, showcasing national politicians with a Jewish background.

Politicians such as former U.S. Congressman Sam Coppersmith, Arizona state Senator Barbara Leff and many others discussed the importance in Jewish politics.

They also discussed the importance of politics in general.

"A lot of people do not know about politics, and this is a way to learn from them on how minorities might have an influence on political issues," Rabbi Barton Lee said.

The forum discussed many different subjects, including how being Jewish affects the politicians as candidates and policyholders as well as the current Jewish issues in politics.

Attendees also were able to register to vote at the discussion or pick up a pamphlet on the voting process.
