A 20-year-old ASU student, missing since Saturday, was found dead inside a sleeping bag in the bed of a pickup truck Sunday afternoon.

The bodies of pre-business undergraduate Brandon Rumbaugh and his 19-year-old girlfriend, Lisa Gurrieri, were discovered by authorities on Bumblebee Road, approximately one-eighth of a mile from Interstate 17 and 30 miles north of Phoenix.

The Scottsdale couple reportedly departed for a camping trip on Friday and told friends they would return on Saturday, said Yavapai County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Susan Quail.

Family and friends reported the couple missing when Rumbaugh did not report to work at a Mesa sports club on Saturday, Quail said.

Sheriff's Lt. Steve Francis said the department had ruled the deaths suspicious for the time being.

"Because this is such a popular weekend area and so many come here, we want the public's help if they were up here camping and saw anything at all," Francis added.

There were no apparent signs of trauma on either of the bodies. Authorities expect to receive autopsy results today or Wednesday.
