Devil Dish: ASU athletes are Phat

With the death of McDonald's CEO Jim Cantalupo and the success of Cold Stone Creamery, it would be easy to assume most Americans are doing anything but sitting on their futons and eating Icees all day. But at ASU, that's not the case.

Sophomore gymnast Ashley Kelly won a national title on the balance beam Saturday. Junior outfielder Valerie Sevilla has hit 12 home runs this season for the softball team. And junior tailback Hakim Hill rushed for 86 yards and scored three touchdowns at Saturday's spring football game. Hill is rushing for 86 yards while the rest of us are making excuses for not working out.

These Sun Devils are making a healthy name for ASU students. We should all get out to the gym and improve our collective health.

So to all you ASU athletes, look for me at the next sports event. Although, I'll have to cheer you on from the stands because I'm still smarting from that brain freeze.
