Even as my Arizona Diamond-backs struggle with a pitching rotation that the Salvation Army wouldn't even take if you left it at the curb, the New York Yankees are losing like it's going out of style.
With all those millions wasted, George Steinbrenner forgot that you can't buy chemistry (aisle three, next to heart). Pretty boy Derek Jeter hasn't had a hit in 25 at-bats, and his batting average is so tiny it makes Lara Flynn Boyle look like she needs the Atkins Diet.
Throw in Bernie Williams (.167), Jason Giambi (.204) and Alex Rodriguez (.257), and you have what was supposed to be the most feared lineup of all-time.
I'm sure a few months from now, the Bombers will rub the kinks out and be ready for a playoff run, while the D-backs are still figuring out why they traded their entire infield for Richmond Lockwood Sexson -- he of the .225 batting average and almost $9 million salary.
Sounds like he would fit in perfect on the Yankees.
