Track & Field: Throwers pace track at ASU Invitational

Good things come in threes.

That holds true for the ASU women's track and field team's throwers.

The trio of Julia Pedersen, Jennifer Kowacz and Jessica Pressley posted more solid marks Saturday, leading the Sun Devils in the ASU Invitational at Sun Angel Stadium.

Pressley posted her second school record in two weeks in the hammer. Her throw of

205 feet, 1 inch is the longest throw recorded nationally this season.

Pedersen won the discus and Kowacz finished fourth in the shot put. Both Pedersen and Kowacz regionally qualified in their respective events. Pressley regionally qualified in the hammer, discus and shot put.

The Sun Devils won 17 events and earned 24 regional qualifications.

ASU returns to action April 7 at the Texas Relays.
