Two ASU football players were arrested Tuesday in connection with secretly videotaping a female victim.
Freshmen Jonathan Lehmann and Brent Russum, both 19, were arrested around 9:45 a.m. Tuesday and charged with surreptitious photographing, videotaping, filming or digitally recording, which is a Class 5 felony.
They were later released pending an investigation by the Maricopa County Attorney's Office.
ASU officials reported a female victim filed a report with ASU Department of Public Safety on Sunday. DPS attained a search warrant through the Superior Court and served the students Tuesday in their rooms at Palo Verde Main.
ASU officials said evidence was seized, but did not report what was found.
"They are still investigating into the specifics of what exactly happened," said ASU spokesman Manny Romero.
ASU football coach Dirk Koetter announced Tuesday morning the athletes have been dismissed from the football program for violation of team rules.
Lehmann and Russum were both undeclared freshmen and offensive linemen. Neither had played for ASU.
