Police Beat: Domestic violence


Tempe police reported the following incidents Monday:

A 23-year-old New Mexico man was arrested Monday at the 600 block of Mill Avenue and charged with possession of spirituous liquor in a park. Police said the man was observed in the parking lot of Tempe Beach Park allegedly in possession of Keystone Light. The man allegedly admitted to possession of the alcohol.

A 35-year-old Tempe man was arrested Thursday and charged with assault, domestic violence and criminal damage. Police said the man allegedly hit his roommate in the face with a closed fist and struck him on the back with the chair, causing the chair to break, before fleeing the scene.

A 36-year-old transient man was arrested Monday at the 5000 block of McClintock Drive and charged with theft/shoplifting. Police said the man was held by Fry's Loss Prevention and allegedly admitted to theft.
