ASU police reported the following incidents Tuesday:
A 19-year-old Mesa man was arrested near the intersection of Rural and Terrace roads early Monday morning and charged with exhibition of speed.
An officer driving on Rural Road behind the man's pickup reportedly heard the engine rev at a red light at Terrace Road.
"When the light turned green, the pickup's engine revved to a high rpm, then the tires broke loose of the pavement, causing a screeching noise," police reported.
The man was reportedly pulled over and arrested. When asked why his tires broke loose, police reported "he said it was to impress the girl seated next to him."
Tempe police reported the following incidents Tuesday:
A 25-year-old transient man was arrested on 13th Street just east of Mill Avenue and charged with trespassing early Monday morning. The man was reportedly asked to leave a property on the street but allegedly returned less than two hours later.
The suspect "was found sitting on the vehicle parked in the driveway," police reported.
A 36-year-old Tempe man was arrested on the 400 block of South Mill Avenue Sunday afternoon and charged with interfering with a public highway.
The man allegedly walked in front of a southbound truck, keeping the truck from proceeding. He reportedly looked and yelled at the driver, staying in the road for about 45 seconds.
