Devil Dish: NFC North

Last weekend, NFL fans had the privilege of witnessing a Sunday miracle.

By default, the NFC North now boasts a team with a winning record, as Detroit Loins quarterback Jeff Garcia completed a perfect strike to Chicago Bears cornerback Charles Tillman in overtime.

Tillman promptly returned the interception for a touchdown, and a winning team was born.

Not only does a 4-3 record put the Bears in pseudo cruise-control, considering the play of the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings, but also by handing it to the Lions twice already this season, Chicago holds a firm tiebreaker.

Both teams entered Sunday's contest 3-3, all but guaranteeing a winning team in the end. And when the game dragged into overtime, it looked as if neither team could muster a win.

As a division, the NFC North has only 10 wins after 28 games, five of which come from beating up on each other.

And as much as the Bears deserve all the credit for standing atop the NFC North, the Lions, Packers and Vikings should gain honorable mention for hoisting them up.
