Police Beat: Alcohol in your body

ASU police reported the following incidents Monday:

A 19-year-old male ASU student was arrested at Adelphi Commons early Saturday morning and charged with having alcohol in his body. Police responding to a report of a fight contacted the man and reportedly noticed he was swaying and had an odor of an alcoholic beverage. The man reportedly told police, "I had two beers, about two hours ago." When an officer asked if the suspect meant at about 2 a.m., he reportedly replied, "No, only a couple of hours ago, about 11 o'clock." After the officer told the suspect it was about 4 a.m., the man reportedly said, "Is it that late? Then, yeah, I drank at about 11 o'clock."

A 19-year-old female ASU student was arrested at Adelphi Commons early Saturday morning and charged with having alcohol in her body. Police went to her room because of a report of an unwanted guest. When they arrived the suspect reportedly said she had been arguing with her boyfriend, a 22-year-old Tempe man, but that "everything's OK now." An officer reportedly smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the woman and asked if she and her boyfriend had consumed alcohol. "[The boyfriend] began to cry, and stated 'I just love her so much,'" police reported. He reportedly continued crying and paced around the room before he allegedly told police he drank alcohol earlier in the evening. The suspect then reportedly told police she drank at the same time. "But I only had a little because I know I'm not supposed to be drinking," she reportedly said.

A 1997 Nissan pickup truck belonging to a 24-year-old male ASU student was reportedly stolen from Lot 59 Thursday afternoon.
