ASU police reported the following incidents Friday:
A community room at Adelphi Commons II was reportedly damaged Wednesday afternoon. A resident assistant reportedly entered the room to find it covered with splattered red and yellow paint balls. One of the paint balls hit a flat-screen plasma TV belonging to ASU, destroying the screen, police said. The damage to the TV was estimated at $1,800.
A 55-year-old Mesa man was arrested Thursday afternoon at College Avenue and Apache Boulevard and charged with driving on a revoked driver's license. Police reportedly pulled the suspect over for driving the wrong direction on a one-way street. When officers asked the suspect if he was aware his driver's license had been revoked, he reportedly said, "Yeah, 10 years ago."
A 33-year-old Mesa man was arrested Wednesday night at the Architecture Building and charged with third-degree trespassing. Witnesses said the suspect was wearing a black shirt and a black backpack with red bolt cutters sticking out, police said. Police reportedly found the suspect sitting on the sidewalk near a bike rack with bolt cutters in his lap.
Tempe police reported the following incidents Friday:
A Tempe woman reported being sexually assaulted Thursday night. The suspect is a black male, between 18 and 19 years old, with a thin mustache and a gold hoop earring, police said. He is 5-feet-9-inches tall and weighs between 180 and 200 pounds, police reported. The suspect allegedly followed the victim home from a store near Hardy and University drives. He then threatened her with a firearm, forced her into the home and sexually assaulted her, police said.
A 27-year-old Avondale man was arrested Friday morning on the 100 block of West Sixth Street and charged with third-degree trespassing. Police reportedly found the suspect in a large hole in the ground. He allegedly climbed the fence surrounding a construction site and used stairs to get into the pit.
A 21-year-old Tempe woman was arrested Thursday morning on the 1500 block of North Scottsdale Road and charged with burglary from a vehicle. The suspect allegedly stole a bag of Lay's potato chips from a parked Lay's truck. The stolen property was recovered, police said.
