On the CW Television Show, "One Tree Hill", actress Sophia Bush plays too-hot-to-touch-pom-pom girl, Brooke Davis. In the remake of the horror flick, "The Hitcher", she plays a weathered down, beat up and badly bruised college girl who just wants to go on her spring break vacation. Here's what Sophia had to say on her new role.
Q: Sophia, what made "The Hitcher" appealing to you?
Sophia: There was just such an arc and such a development of a character and a real sort of slope for this girl to fall down. I like to choose things that I haven't done before.
As I was going through the script, I realized there was something special here because not only did that Tomboy side of me get unleashed, but also that stunt junkie side of me. I got to do all of these amazing things and watch cars get blown up and helicopters fly over our faces and run around in the desert with guns.
Q: How has the role of women in Horror movies changed?
Sophia: We're at a point where thankfully, in our sociology we've evolved to realize women can kick just as much ass and people want to see it. There's something that's a little less expected by seeing the girlfriend end up with the shotgun. It's exciting and it really gives the guy something to root for. It gives the girls in the audience something to root for too.
Sophia said she is finishing her 4th season of "One Tree Hill."
"The Hitcher" opens today.
