Nothing in life is free - unless you're searching for furniture on craigslist.com. Even IKEA can't compare to the "free" section under the "for sale" column on the site. Craigslist is the only place where you can pick up a couch that is cheaper than last night's hook-up - both of which you can find on the site. If you can manage to avoid getting sucked in by the missed connections and casual encounters sections, the furniture you can find for free - or close to it - is amazing. OK, amazing after you throw on some paint or a couch cover.
