ASU police reported the following incidents:
- A 38-year-old Tempe man was arrested in the morning of July 11 at the Law Library on charges of trespassing.
The man reportedly was found sleeping under a table in a study room.
He reportedly was previously warned for trespassing on July 9 for lying down on a bench at the SRC softball field.
He reportedly was escorted out of the library — as it was closed for several hours — searched, handcuffed and transported to ASU Police Station.
- Two 21-year-old male ASU students were reportedly assaulted in the morning of July 8 on the 600 block of S. Alpha Drive.
The students were woken up by an explosion — described as sounding like an "M80" firecracker — and went outside, police reported.
About five to seven men reportedly approached the students and an argument ensued.
The men struck the students several times and knocked them to the ground, police reported.
The students reportedly sustained bruises, swellings and abrasions.
The students reportedly could not identify the men, and currently police have no leads, suspects or arrests.
- A 49-year-old ASU employee reported criminal damage in the morning of July 9 at the Ritter Building.
The employee reportedly noticed the broken window when she arrived at work.
She allegedly did not notice the broken window when she left for the day on July 6.
Although the broken window led into a room with computers, there were no signs of entry and nothing appeared to missing, police reported.
Tempe police reported the following incidents:
- A 22-year-old Scottsdale man was arrested in the morning of July 12 on the 1300 block of W. University Drive on charges of robbery.
The man reportedly snatched a woman's purse after a brief struggle.
The man ran from the scene with the purse and was chased by a witness, police reported.
He was caught and found with some of the stolen money, police reported.
He was booked into the Tempe City Jail.
- A 42-year-old man was arrested in the evening of July 9 on charges of domestic violence.
The man assaulted his girlfriend with a golf club in the face, chest, back and ankle, police reported.
She reportedly suffered a broken ankle and possible broken jaw.
The address where the assault took place could not be identified in the police record.
He was transported to the Tempe City Jail.
- A 32-year-old Tempe man was arrested in the morning of July 10 on the 1300 block of E. Apache Blvd. on charges of resisting arrest and assault.
The man reportedly had an outstanding Tempe warrant and was confronted by police.
He tried to get away from police, refused to put his hands behind his back and would not follow police orders, police reported.
At least four officers reportedly were needed to control the man and he was booked into the Tempe City Jail.
- A 46-year-old transient man was arrested in the afternoon of July 9 on the 500 block of E. Papago Drive on charges of first-degree trespassing.
The man reportedly unlawfully entered his mother's house through an unlocked back window.
His mother was out of the country at the time, police reported.
He was transported to the Tempe City Jail.
