Devils dominate Stanford

The Sun Devils crushed the lowly Stanford Cardinal Saturday night in a 41-3 victory.

Quarterback Rudy Carpenter had a big game throwing for 259 yards and one touchdown.

Carpenter's touchdown came on a 62-yard pass to wide receiver Rudy Burgess. Burgess finished the game with 7 receptions resulting in 137 yards.

Ryan Torain and Keegan Herring also had a good showing on limited touches putting up 103 yards and 83 yards, respectively.

The Devils' defense limited the Cardinal to -2 yards rushing, forced two fumbles and snagged an interception.

The Sun Devils are off to a 5-0 start and looking for a bump up in the national rankings under new coach Dennis Erickson.
