It was a good weekend for both ASU swimming and diving teams.
The men got their first win of the season with a 177-170 victory, while the women remained undefeated on the season with a 236-111 triumph over the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos in the two-day meet.
The men are now 1-2 on the season while the women remain a perfect 4-0.
Many members of both squads earned their "B" qualifying times this weekend.
All-American C.J. Nuess earned the team's first NCAA "B" qualifying time in the 1650 freestyle.
Junior Jen Beckberger earned her "B" qualifying time in the 200 freestyle. The All-American also had a "B" qualifying time in the 50 free, with a time of 23.23. Caitlin Andrew earned her first "B" qualifying time of the season in the 100 backstroke.
Sophomore Ashton Aubry earned her NCAA "B" qualifying time in the 200 fly. Sophomore Ashley Evans also earned an NCAA "B" qualifying time in the 200 Individual Medley.
The women's 400 free relay, which consists of Beckberger, senior Caitlin Andrew, sophomore Jess Perazzo, and senior Lindsey Brown added another NCAA "B" qualifying time on the day.
The men received contributions from many swimmers in the winning effort.
Lucas Azevedo placed first in the 500 freestyle while freshman Collin Gladys placed first in the 200 breaststroke. Senior co-captain Steve Neuwert earned a victory for the Sun Devils in the 50 freestyle.
Diving counted in the overall scores tabulated by each team, but UCSB does not have teams on the springboard. Junior Micky Benedetti took best scores for the men's team while junior Erin Hobbs placed first for the women.
The Sun Devils return to action on Nov. 9 when the women host UCLA and the men host Utah at Mona Plummer Aquatic Center.
