I usually don't write with sympathy, but my heart goes out to all the people in Southern California who have lost their houses, families, pets or anything of significance.

With those wildfires ongoing, it has caused dilemmas in the sports world, most notably the National Football League.

The San Diego Chargers have made the 350-mile trip to Tempe to train for the week at the Arizona Cardinals' training facility. It is uncertain at this point if the Chargers are going to play their game against the Houston Texans on Sunday or Monday, or in San Diego, Glendale, Tempe, Dallas or Houston.

Those of you here four years ago might remember the Monday night affair that took place at Sun Devil Stadium at the last minute because of wildfires, between the Chargers and the Miami Dolphins that was free to everyone in attendance.

If you were there, you saw all the altercations that took place in the packed stands, most notably because of college students. If I were NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, I wouldn't be coming back to the Valley of the Sun for another relocated event.
