ASU police reported the following incident Tuesday:

  • A 20-year-old female ASU student was arrested Sunday on suspicion of possessing narcotic drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under the influence of alcohol and extreme DUI, police reported.

    Police stopped the student at Rural Road and Lemon Street, according to the report.

    The suspect was taken to the ASU police station where she was processed and released, police reported.

Tempe police reported the following incidents Tuesday:

  • A 51-year-old Mesa man was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter Saturday night, police reported.

    The suspect was involved in a collision with a pedestrian on the 1800 block of East Baseline Road, according to the police report.

    The man is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision. Officers observed that he smelled of alcohol and had watery eyes. A blood sample was taken, police reported.

    The pedestrian, who was not in a crosswalk when he was struck by the car, was transported a hospital. He died later in the evening as a result of injuries sustained in the collision, according to the report.

    The suspect was booked into the Tempe City Jail and held to see a judge, police reported.

  • A 23-year-old Mesa man was arrested Monday on suspicion of aggravated assault, police reported.

    Police contacted the man after his ex-girlfriend reported that he was chasing her with a knife, according to the report.

    Investigation revealed that he kicked down the front door of his ex-girlfriend’s apartment and threatened her while holding a large knife, police reported.

    He also threatened to kill her friend, according to the report.

    The suspect admitted to making the threats, having the knife and chasing his ex-girlfriend, police reported.

    He was booked on two counts of aggravated assault at the 100 block of East Fifth Street, according to the report.

  • A 27-year-old man was arrested Monday on suspicion of forgery, using narcotics, possessing dangerous drugs and theft, police reported.

    The man was apprehended at the 1700 block of East Southern Avenue after investigation revealed that he knowingly attempted to fill a forged prescription for narcotic drugs, according to the police report.

    During a search, he was found to have two bags filled with a clear substance believed to be methamphetamines, police reported.

    The suspect was also found to have four outstanding felony warrants for arrest, according to the report.

    The man was transported and booked into the Tempe City Jail, police reported.
