How to: Have your own theme music

100808-thememusic

Sometimes, life imitates art. People will have déjà vu moments that they recall from a film they saw, or perhaps a series of events play out so dramatically one would think they were part of a screenplay. However, it’s never the case that one can walk around parading their own theme music wherever they go.

Until now.

Materials:

1 pair of speakers

1 portable music player

Lots of tape

1. The first step is finding a good pair of speakers. An ideal pair should be slender and shock-resistant so they don’t break when they bump into stuff.

2. Tape the speakers on the inside of your outfit on the sides, underneath clothing. Packing tape is not only durable, but is transparent as well.

3. Prepare the portable music player such as an iPod, Zune, or Walkman. Make sure to set up a playlist ahead of time so there is no fumbling with the device on the day. Otherwise, it loses its effect and looks silly.

4. Hook up the portable music player to the speakers and tuck away the player somewhere safe.

5. Hit play on the music player and head outside to enjoy your day.

It’s important to know that this will cause people to react. Some will give compliments for its creativity, while others will chase the theme music down with torches and pitchforks in annoyance.

The key thing to remember is having your own theme music isn’t a right, it’s a pioneering act. And while there may be haters out there, at least they won’t be half as cool as you doing it to Linkin Park.
