ASU police reported the following incidents Monday:

  • Between 1 and 11 a.m. Oct. 12 an unknown suspect or suspects unlawfully gained entry to a 25-year-old ASU student’s apartment, police reported.

    The student lives on the first floor of a building at the Vista del Sol apartment complex on the Tempe campus, according to the police report.

    The suspect or suspects stole a 40-inch flat screen television from inside the apartment, police reported.

    The estimated loss is $800, according to the police report.

    There are no leads, suspects or witnesses at this time, according police reported.

  • At approximately 10:30 p.m. Oct. 8 an unknown suspect or suspects stole six 30-foot sections of copper wire from an ASU practice field on the Tempe campus, police reported.

    The sections were taken from the eastern field, according to the police report.

    The wires were used as part of an underground connection of the field lights to a power supply point, police reported.

    The unknown suspect or suspects accessed the wire at the transfer boxes and then cut the wires and pulled them out, according to the police report.

    The estimated loss is unknown at this time, police reported.

  • Between Sept. 22 and Oct. 9 a suspect or suspects stole a debit card belonging to an 18-year-old male ASU student, police reported.

    The student told police he does not know exactly when the card was stolen or where it was taken from, according to the police report.

    The card was fraudulently used multiple times at the Hassayampa Market on the Tempe campus, according to the police report.

    The total estimated loss is $1,429.50, police reported.

Tempe police reported the following incidents Monday:

  • A 20-year-old Mesa man was arrested Saturday on suspicion of public consumption of alcohol, being a minor in possession of alcohol and being a minor in consumption of alcohol, police reported.

    The man was arrested at West Fifth Street and South Myrtle Avenue after officers observed him consuming a Miller Light beer in public, according to the police report.

    When confronted, the man showed identification belonging to another man, police reported.

    Officers then took both of the man’s hands and held them behind his back, telling him he was under arrest when he asked, “You’re arresting me?” according to the police report.

    The man then pulled away and fled on foot. He was captured 500 yards away and placed under arrest, police reported.

  • A search yielded his real driver’s license, showing that he was not 21 years old, according to the police report.

    The suspect was then charged additionally for escape, giving false information to law enforcement and having a license other than his own, police reported.

    He was booked and held at Tempe City Jail, according to the police report.
