The man called ASU police and reported he had been kidnapped from the Hassayampa Academic Village, police reported.
Police said they felt the man had made the claim up.
The man was not charged with a crime, according to the report.
Tempe police reported the following incidents Thursday:
- A 24-year-old Sierra Vista man was arrested and held Monday on suspicion of fraudulent schemes, seven counts of theft and ten counts of forgery, according to a police report.
Between Jan. 3 and 16, the man forged over $35,000 in bad checks, police reported.
He forged ten different checks and had seven of his friend’s cash them, police reported.
The man was identified by bank surveillance photos and in a police line-up, according to the report.
- A 29-year-old Texas man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault and suspicion of disorderly conduct about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, police said.
The man was involved in a fight at San Felipe’s Cantina located at 2000 E. Rio Salado Parkway, according to a police report.
Police reported the man punched another man in the head and then hit him in the face with a beer bottle.
The altercation left the victim with serious injuries to his face and head, police reported.
The man was taken to Tempe City Jail and held to see a judge, according to the report.
- At 9:27 a.m. Tuesday a 64-year-old Tempe man was arrested on suspicion of two counts of aggravated assault and one count of assault, police said.
The man was in an argument with his brother-in-law, which ended in the suspect punching the victim in the head, police reported.
After the initial altercation, the man grabbed a kitchen knife and chased the victim, according to a police report. The victim’s brother then tried to stop the man with the knife, police reported.
Police said the man then stabbed the victim’s brother in the back and abdomen. The victim’s father then tried to intervene but the man stabbed him in the hand, police reported.
The man was taken to Tempe City Jail and held to see a judge, police reported.
