ASU police reported the following incidents Tuesday:

  • At about 11 a.m. Saturday, an unknown suspect or suspects burglarized the vehicle of an 18-year-old male ASU student, police reported.

    The car was parked at Gammage Auditorium on the Tempe campus, according to the police report.

    The student’s iPod, iPod transmitter and $20 in cash were stolen, police reported.

    The total estimated loss is $350, according to the police report.

    There are no suspects, leads or witnesses at this time, police reported.

  • Between 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 4 an unknown suspect or suspects criminally damaged the car of a 26-year-old male ASU employee, police reported.

    The car was parked in the lot of the Simulator Building on the Polytechnic campus, according to the police report.

    The car was severely scratched, and the only lead is a shoe print on the hood of the car from a “skate-style” shoe, police reported.

    The estimated damage is $1,000, according to the police report.

    There are no suspects or witnesses at this time, police reported.

  • Between May 6 and Nov. 8, an unknown suspect or suspects stole two bundles of copper ground conductor wires from the Barry M. Goldwater Center for Science and Engineering on the Tempe campus, police reported.

    The estimated loss is $3,000, according to the police report.

    There are no suspects, leads or witnesses at this time, police reported.

Tempe police reported the following incident Tuesday:

  • A 30-year-old Tempe man was arrested Saturday on suspicion of assault, criminal damage, trespassing, aggravated assault and disorderly conduct, police reported.

    The man was originally placed under arrest for assaulting a security officer at the Jack in the Box at 721 S. Mill Ave., according to the police report.

    The man was yelling obscenities while inside the restaurant and refused to leave after being asked multiple times, police reported.

    After several minutes, the man threw his driver’s license at the security guard and continued yelling and cursing, according to the police report.

    The suspect then moved outside of the restaurant and began swinging punches and struck the security guard in the face, police reported.

    In the process of the struggle, the man broke the guard’s $1,200 radio, according to the police report.

    Once in custody, the man said to a Tempe police officer, “What do you think about this?” and then spat in the officer’s eye, police reported.

    He was then booked on an additional assault charge and held at Tempe City Jail, according to the police report.
