Tempe police reported the following incidents Saturday:

A 21-year-old Minnesota man was arrested about 2:56 a.m. on Sunday on suspicion of possession of marijuana, police reported.

The man was taken into custody following a stop at 111 W. Baseline Road, according to a police report.

The man was transported to the Tempe City Jail, where he was later released, according to the report.


A 20-year-old Tempe man was arrested at East Southern Avenue and South Rural Road Tuesday around 12:12 a.m. after being stopped for driving with no headlights, according to a police report.

He was found to be driving on a suspended license and had an outstanding warrant, police reported.

Upon conducting a search of the vehicle, a usable quantity of marijuana was located in the truck, police reported.

The man was transported to the Tempe City Jail, where he was held to see a judge for driving on a suspended license and the warrant, according to the report.

He was released pending charges for marijuana possession, police reported.


A 25-year-old Mesa woman was arrested Monday around 11 p.m. at West Southern Avenue and South Kyrene Road after a registration check on her temporary license plate showed it expired on April 20, police reported.

The plate she had on her vehicle was a three-day temporary plate, and after police stopped her, they noticed the date on the plate was June 20, according to a police report.

The woman later admitted she altered the plate to make it look like it expires in late June, police reported.

An Arizona driver’s license-check revealed the woman’s license was suspended, police reported.

Upon a search, usable quantity of marijuana was found in the woman’s vehicle, police reported.

She was released pending the marijuana charge, according to the report.


A 19-year-old Tempe woman was arrested at 12:52 p.m. Thursday on suspicion of disorderly conduct for fighting and domestic violence and an outstanding warrant from of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, police reported.

The arrest was made at her residence on the 5000 block of South Hardy Drive after she was involved in a physical fight with her boyfriend, according to a police report.

Two TVs and a dining room table were knocked over during the fight, police reported.

The woman’s boyfriend suffered a scratch on his neck, and she had two broken nails, according to the report.

Neither party would open the door, and police had to use the manager’s key for access to check the scene, police reported.


A 21-year-old Tempe man was arrested around 4:21 a.m. on suspicion of pushing his live-in girlfriend into the wall and then onto the ground, police reported.

According to police, the man then head butted her in the face, causing swelling and pain, according to a police report.

The girlfriend tried calling the police, and the man grabbed the phone and broke it in half, police reported.

When police attempted to contact and handcuff the man at the residence on the 1000 block of West Broadway Road, he resisted and attempted to leg sweep an officer to the ground, according to the report.

He was arrested and booked into the Tempe City Jail, police reported.
