Tempe Police reported the following incidents Tuesday:

  • A 26-year-old Tucson man was arrested Sunday morning on suspicion of being involved in the sale of narcotic drugs, police reported.

    The man was contacted in his vehicle, which was being watched by investigators, according to a police report.

    The car was reportedly transported to Mexico, and then later returned to Arizona and the suspect, police reported.

    Investigation revealed the man was assisting in the transportation of approximately 10 kilograms of cocaine to another state. The man reportedly denied any knowledge of the cocaine, according to a report.

    A K-9 unit alerted officers to the presence of the drug in the vehicle.

    A warrant was issued on the truck and approximately 10 kilograms of cocaine were found in a hidden compartment on the rear driver’s side panel, according to a report.

    The substance tested positively as cocaine during an analysis, police reported.

    The man was booked on suspicion of selling narcotic drugs and held to see a judge, according to a report.

  • A 45-year-old Tempe man was arrested Sunday night on the 600 block of West 19th Street on suspicion of committing aggravated assault with a knife, police reported.

    An investigation revealed the man committed aggravated assault on his brother by threatening him with a kitchen knife, according to a police report.

    The suspect was transported to Tempe City Jail on suspicion of one count of aggravated assault, police reported.

  • A 38-year-old Scottsdale man was arrested Saturday morning on suspicion of trespassing at a residence on the 2000 block of East Don Carlos Avenue, police reported.

    The man was seen opening the front storm door of a residence at the above location, according to a police report.

    Investigations later revealed that the man assaulted a pedestrian by hitting him in the face twice with a closed fist, causing lacerations. The man then took the victim’s bike, police reported.

    The suspect was transported to Tempe City Jail and held to see a judge on suspicion of one count of first degree trespassing, one count of robbery and one count of disorderly conduct.

  • A 25-year-old Phoenix man was arrested Friday night in a parking lot on 230 W. Fifth Street after he refused to leave the premises, police reported.

    The man was with a group of friends when three of his friends were placed under arrest. The man then attempted to stop the officers, according to a police report.

    Officers reportedly told the man to leave and threatened to arrest him for obstructing the process if he did not leave. The man then told the officer, “I’m not leaving,” police reported.

    The officers then told the man he was under arrest but the man slapped the hand of the officer and fled on foot, according to a report.

    The man shoved another officer in the chest and while resisting the arrest, fell into a pick-up truck, causing damage, police reported.

    The man continued to resist, putting his hand in one officer’s face and reaching for the officer’s pepper spray. The officer struck the man in the face and he stopped fighting, police reported.

    The suspect was transported to Tempe City Jail and held on suspicion of one count of criminal damage, one count of aggravated assault, one count of resisting arrest and one count of delaying and obstructing justice, police reported.
