Alan Bannister, a shortstop at ASU from 1970 to 1972, was named to the College Baseball Hall of Fame on Thursday, the College Baseball Foundation announced.

Bannister is the sixth Sun Devil to be elected to the Hall of Fame, joining Bobby Winkles, Jim Brock, Bob Horner, Eddie Bane and Floyd Bannister.

Alan Bannister, no relation to Floyd, hit better than .355 during his three-year career at ASU, including a 1972 season that saw him log 101 hits and 90 RBIs, the most for a single season during the wood-bat era.
