Tempe Police reported the following incidents Sunday:
A 26-year-old California woman was arrested around noon Thursday on suspicion of forgery and being in possession of drug paraphernalia, police reported.
A police investigation revealed the woman attempted to cash a forged check for $8,600 at the Bank of America at 906 E. Baseline Road in Tempe, according to a police report.
The woman remained at the bank while bank staff determined that the check was not valid, police reported.
During a police search, a thin glass pipe was found in the woman’s purse, which the woman admitted was a methamphetamine pipe, according to a report.
The woman was taken to Tempe City Jail, booked and held to see a judge, police reported.
An 18-year-old Mesa woman was arrested around 10 p.m. Thursday on suspicion of possession of dangerous drugs and an outstanding city of Tempe warrant, police reported.
The woman was arrested after the Department of Public Safety confirmed a warrant from the Tempe City Court and she was transported to Tempe, according to a police report.
The woman was booked into Tempe City Jail, and a search of the woman’s coin purse revealed two blue pills confirmed by Arizona Poison Control to contain amphetamine, police reported.
The woman admitted to knowing what the pills were and that they were for recreational use, according to a report.
The woman was booked and released pending charges, police reported.
A 21-year-old Scottsdale man was arrested around 5 p.m. August 16 on suspicion of theft, trafficking stolen property and resisting arrest, police reported.
A police investigation revealed the man stole his friend’s stereo amplifier out of his boat, posted an ad on Craigslist and sold the stolen amplifier for $140, according to a police report.
The man admitted to his friend to stealing the amplifier, and told police how he stole it and whom he sold it to, police reported.
As the man was being placed under arrest, he pulled away and started to run, but was caught by police right away, according to a report.
The man then put up a physical fight and resisted being taken into custody before being detained and placed in handcuffs, police reported.
The man was booked into Tempe City Jail, according to a report.
