Police Beat: Sept. 10

ASU Police reported the following incidents Thursday:

  • A 20-year-old woman was arrested around 9.30 p.m. Wednesday on suspicion of failing to notify the owner after striking an unattended vehicle, police reported.The vehicle the woman was driving collided with a parked car in the Tyler Street parking structure on the Tempe campus, and witnesses told police the woman made no attempt to notify the owner, according to a police report.

    The woman was located about one hour later and was placed under arrest, police reported.The woman was transported to the ASU Police Station, where she was processed and released, according to a report.

  • A 20-year-old Air Force airman was arrested around 3:30 a.m. Monday on suspicion of criminal damage and being a minor with alcohol in the body, police reported.The man punched and damaged the side mirror of a vehicle in the Las Casas parking lot on the West campus belonging to a 19-year-old female student, according to a police report.

    The estimated damage is $100, police reported.The airman was arrested, cited and later released to Air Force authorities at Luke Air Force Base, according to a report.

  • Around 3 a.m. Monday, police assisted ASU Residential Life in a civil stand-by, at Manzanita Hall on the Tempe campus, police reported.

    No arrests were made, but an 18-year-old male student was removed and relocated to San Pablo Hall on the Tempe campus, according to a police report.

  • An unknown person or persons committed criminal damage between 5 p.m. Monday and 2 p.m. Tuesday by breaking a window on the north side of the Memorial Union on the Tempe campus, police reported.

    The estimated loss is $200, according to a police report.There are no suspects, leads or witnesses, police reported.

  • An unknown person or persons committed criminal damage between July 1 and Sept. 7 by causing significant damage to a residence near the Polytechnic campus, police reported.

    The residence, on the 6900 block of East Vosler Circle in Mesa, was marked with graffiti, had doors torn from the walls, drywall damage, destruction of light fixtures and other miscellaneous damage, according to a police report.

    The estimated damage is $3,000, police reported. There are no suspects, leads or witnesses, according to a report.
