Police Beat: Sept. 15


ASU Police reported the following incidents Tuesday:

  • A 20-year-old male student was arrested around 7:30 p.m. Saturday on suspicion of using a driver’s license of another person and being a minor with alcohol in the body, police reported.Police contacted the student in reference to an alcohol violation at Sun Devil Stadium on the Tempe campus, according to a police report.The man presented a California driver’s license to police to show he was 21 years old, and then tried to run from the police, police reported. The student was transported to the ASU Police Department, where he was cited and released, according to a report.
  • An 18-year-old male student was arrested around 11:30 p.m. Friday on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia, police reported. The man was contacted by police as a suspicious person on the top level of the Rural Road parking structure, according to a police report. A pipe with burned marijuana residue was found on the ground level of the structure, directly below where he was standing, police reported. The man admitted the pipe was his, and was transported to the ASU Police Department, where he was processed and released, according to a report.
  • An unknown person or persons committed burglary and criminal damage between noon and 10 p.m. Monday, police reported. The suspects forced open a window, causing damage, and removed a television from the residence of a 19-year-old male student on the 6800 block of East Upsala Avenue near the Polytechnic campus, according to a police report. The estimated loss is $1,500, police reported. There are no suspects, leads or witnesses, according to a report.
  • An 18-year-old man was assaulted around 9 p.m. Sept. 4 by four unknown suspects, police reported. The four men, who were described as between 18 and 20 years old and wearing ASU shirts, punched the man with closed fists outside of Hassayampa Academic Village, according to a police report.
