Police Beat: Sept. 3


ASU Police reported the following incidents Thursday:

  • Five male students between the ages of 18 and 20 were arrested around 1:15 a.m. Thursday on suspicion of being minors with alcohol in the body, police reported. The men were contacted in the E-wing courtyard of Vista del Sol on the Tempe campus, according to a police report. All of the students admitted to drinking and were cited and released at the scene, police reported.
  • An unknown person or persons committed burglary between 8 a.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. Thursday by breaking into a sanitary napkin machine in a women’s restroom in the Memorial Union on Tempe campus, police reported. Approximately $10 worth of quarters were taken from the machine, according to a police report. There are no suspects, leads or witnesses, police reported.
  • An unknown person or persons committed theft between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Tuesday by taking a laptop computer and power cord belonging to the Alliance Renovation Association, police reported. The Dell laptop was in the C-wing of the Mercado Building at the Downtown campus, according to a police report. The estimated loss is $200, police reported. There are no suspects, leads or witnesses, according to a report.
  • An unknown person or persons committed theft Aug. 26 by taking a purse belonging to a 19-year-old female student, police reported. The purse was taken from the Student Recreation Complex on the Tempe campus, according to a police report. The estimated loss is $245, police reported. There are no suspects, leads or witnesses, according to a report.
  • An unknown person or persons committed assault against a 19-year-old female student around 1 a.m. Saturday, police reported. The student was sitting outside of a Domino’s Pizza at Vista del Sol on the Tempe campus, according to a police report. There are no suspects, leads or witnesses, police reported.
