ASU Police reported the following incidents Wednesday:

  • ASU Police were dispatched to Palo Blanco, the 6000 block of South Williams Campus Loop East at the Polytechnic Campus, on a report of criminal damage Sept. 7 at about 6:24 p.m., police reported.The suspect or suspects smashed and broke the driver’s side window of a 59-year-old male’s vehicle, according to a police report.The victim did not wish to aid in prosecution, and there are no suspects, leads or witnesses at this time, police reported.The estimated damage is $150, according to a report.
  • ASU Police reported that Sept. 7 at about 11:35 a.m., an unknown male stole a metal rack from ASU Surplus at the 2000 block of West 8th Street in Mesa, police reported.An unknown suspect or suspects stole a 49-year-old female’s bike sometime between Sept. 4 at 2 p.m. and Sept. 6 at 8 a.m. from the front area of her residence at the 5000 block of South Terripin near the Polytechnic campus, police reported.The estimated loss is $60, according to a police report.There are no witnesses, suspects or leads, police reported.
  • On Sept. 3 at about 10 p.m., an unknown person or persons committed theft by taking a 19-year-old female’s purse from the Vista Del Sol pool area, police reported.There are no suspects or leads, according to a report.Between Sept. 3 at 10 p.m. and Sept. 6 at 9:30 a.m. an unknown person or persons committed theft by stealing an 18-year-old female’s bicycle from the south side of Taylor Place at the Downtown campus, police reported.The estimated loss is $100, according to the police report.There are no suspects or leads, police reported.
  • An unknown suspect or suspects committed burglary on Sept. 2 between 3:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. when they entered a 19-year-old female’s residence and stole her laptop computer off of her desk at Vista Del Sol, police reported.The total estimated loss is $400, according to a police report.There are no suspects, leads or witnesses, police reported.An unknown person or persons unlawfully entered the storage building at the 7000 block of East Verona Avenue in Mesa at an unknown time prior to Aug. 30 at about 10 a.m., police reported.The person or persons removed three bicycles and damaged items in the storage area, according to a police report.The estimated damage is $3,000, police reported.Tempe Police reported the following incidents Wednesday:
  • An 18-year-old male was arrested at 11:50 p.m. Sept. 8 on suspicion of marijuana possession at the 1900 block of East Apache Boulevard, police reported.He was contacted during a party investigation where underage drinkers were believed to be present, according to a police report.The suspect had a distinct odor of alcohol on his breath and marijuana coming from his person, police reported.He admitted to smoking marijuana and purchasing the marijuana for the party, according to the police report.Police viewed and seized marijuana in the apartment under search warrant, according to a report.The suspect was released pending his drug charge and booked and held for his minor in consumption charge, police reported.
  • A 25-year-old male was arrested on Sept. 4 at Apache and McClintock after he was contacted on the light rail with an open beer and found to have a Mesa warrant, police reported.Police found three narcotic drug pills in his right front pants pocket during a search, according to a report.He was booked and released pending his possession charge and had to see a judge for the warrant, police reported.
  • A 57-year-old man was arrested Sept. 4 around midnight at Eddie’s Pizza on East Apache Boulevard after he allegedly entered the business and pulled a knife on employees, police reported.Employees told police that after a brief verbal argument with employees, the suspect pulled a knife from an unknown pocket and raised it up in a threatening manner, according to a police report.After he raised the knife, employees stated they wrestled the knife away from him because they felt he was going to hurt someone, police reported.He was then removed from the business and was transported and booked into the Tempe City Jail for aggravated assault, according to a police report.Reports compiled by Yvonne Gonzalez.
