ASU student killed in Tempe shooting


An ASU student involved in a shooting incident Sunday evening died from injuries at a local hospital, Tempe police reported Monday.

Police received a call around 9:30 p.m. that 21-year-old political science student Zachary Marco had been shot in the 1100 block of East University Drive.

He was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, police reported. Marco was pronounced dead later that evening.

The incident has been classified a homicide.

Police are investigating information about two males who fled the scene before authorities arrived.

The suspect has not been identified, police reported.
