Freshman swimmer Hayden Thomas excelling as freshman

Despite being just a freshman, ASU swimmer Hayden Thomas has been making a strong early impression.

The ASU swim team currently has 15 freshmen on the roster meaning there are tons of young talented swimmers on the team. Thomas, however, has certainly stood out.

While many of the young swimmers are trying to develop and get used to swimming at the collegiate level, Thomas has already experienced success as he has already accounted for three victories in this young season.

Thomas, a 2010 graduate of Tempe Preparatory Academy, collected his first win last weekend in a home meet against Air Force.

He then followed up that performance with two more wins in the meet against Cal State Bakersfield on Friday.

Although it picked up its first win against CSB, the men’s swim team is off to a slow start at 1-3. This slow start can be contributed to the amount of freshmen and the lack of experience on the team.

However, with Thomas and 14 other freshman, the future should be promising.
