Tempe Police reported the following incidents Wednesday:

  • A 19-year-old Tempe man was arrested at 2:55 a.m. Nov. 28 on suspicion of trespassing after he broke into a Water Utility Department facility on East Rio Salado Parkway in Tempe and climbed a water tower, police reported.The man was caught on security camera throwing a jacket over and then climbing a barbed-wire fence around the facility, according to a police report.He then climbed a water storage tower before being caught by police, police reported.

    The man was taken to Tempe City Jail, according to the report.

  • A 47-year-old homeless man was arrested on suspicion of trespassing for crossing the light rail bridge near Tempe Town Lake at the 300 block of West Lakeview Drive in Tempe at 4:17 a.m. Nov. 28, police reported.Police saw the man walk onto the tracks and proceeded to arrest him, according to the police report.The man said he did not see the posted “no trespassing” signs around the tracks, police reported.

    The man was taken to Tempe City Jail, according to the report.

  • A 30-year-old Flagstaff man was arrested at 2:55 a.m. Nov. 28, on suspicion of forgery after trying to pay his bar tab at the Yucca Tap Room on Southern Avenue in Tempe with counterfeit money, according to police.The man tried to pay his tab with six $5 bills that did not have watermarks and possessed other counterfeit identifiers, police reported.The man did not admit to knowing the bills were counterfeit, according to the report.

    The man was taken to Tempe City Jail, police reported.

ASU Police reported the following incidents Monday:
  • An unknown male attempted to rob a 19-year-old female ASU student near the Goldwater Institute on Tyler Mall in Tempe at 8:45 p.m. Nov. 23, police reported.The man pushed the victim to the ground and unsuccessfully tried to take her purse, fleeing the scene when the victim screamed, according to a police report.Police have no witnesses or leads but do have a partial suspect description identifying the suspect as a white male with brown hair, police reported.
  • An unknown person or persons broke into a car parked in Parking Structure 4 on Rural Road at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 28 and stole a fencing uniform and helmet, police reported.The suspect broke the window of the victim’s Honda Civic and stole the equipment, according to a police report.The total estimated value of the equipment is $500, according to the report.

    The estimated repair cost for the window is $200, police reported.

    Police have no witnesses, leads or suspects, according to the report.

    The victim does wish to prosecute, police reported.
