Many people love Lance Armstrong. He is a source of inspiration for individuals across the globe for his perseverance and athletic ability.

Sports Illustrated has just published the latest information about the case mounting against the much-loved cyclist for using performance-enhancing drugs during his reign as Tour de France king.

The report included several allegations, including one related to the cyclist’s using a hard-to-detect blood boosting drug called HemAssist.

Even with these new allegations, Lance Armstrong will remain an American favorite.

He won the Tour de France seven consecutive times after surviving cancer. No other cyclist or athlete has a story like that. This achievement makes him a hero in the eyes of Americans.

Furthermore, Armstrong is an important philanthropic leader. He created the Lance Armstrong Foundation for cancer research and support, and people around the globe still wear yellow Livestrong bands.

He’s the best in his sport. Armstrong made people care about cycling. Before Armstrong, most people couldn’t even name one cyclist unless they themselves were involved in the sport.

Even though Armstrong is charged with using PEDs, his philanthropic goodness should stand as a reminder that he isn’t entirely bad, and his legacy will live on.
