  • A 25-year-old transient man was arrested on suspicion of theft of services and possession of dangerous drugs on the 500 block of South Mill Avenue in Tempe at approximately 8 p.m. Tuesday, according to a police report.

    Officers contacted the man in reference to a call from a business where the man and a friend attempted to pay for a $125 bill with a declined debit card and attempted to leave the business prior to them finding out if the card had money on it, police reported.

    A search of the man’s person revealed a green substance recognized as spice in the man’s right jacket pocket, according to the report.

    The man admitted it was spice and he knew it was illegal, police reported.

    He was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and held, according to the report.

  • A 21-year-old Kayenta. Ariz., man was arrested on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia, having an open container in a vehicle and two warrants at the intersection of Baseline Road and Arizona Mills Circle in Tempe at approximately 3 a.m. March 19, according to a police report.

    The man was contacted during a vehicle stop for having a fictitious license plate, police reported.

    A search of the vehicle revealed a marijuana pipe on the rear floorboard, eight cans of Coors Light that appeared freshly empty, a three-fourths full can of Bud Light and a bottle of Jack Daniel’s that was one-eighths full, according to the report.

    The man admitted under Miranda to drinking as a passenger in the vehicle and to owning the marijuana pipe, police reported.

    A records check of the man revealed an outstanding warrant for being a minor in possession of alcohol and possession of dangerous drugs, police reported.

    The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and held, according to the report.

  • A 31-year-old Mesa woman was arrested on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia on the 5000 block of South McClintock Road in Tempe at approximately 1 a.m. March 20, according to a police report.

    The woman was found sitting in a corner behind a Fry’s grocery store, and during contact she was asked if she had a meth pipe, police reported.

    The woman said she did have a meth pipe and that it was in a small bag that she carried around her neck, according to the report.

    The woman allowed police to search the bag, and they discovered a pipe with brown burnt residue on it, police reported.

    The woman was transported to Tempe City Jail, where she was booked and held, according to the report.
