IRRESPONSIBLE LEADERSHIP
(In response to Tyler Jones’ March 29 column, “No excuses for unchecked documentation.”)
For someone who keeps complaining about poor transparency in the Student Government, I find Tyler Bowyer's lack of action in his role as president of the College Republicans to be completely hypocritical, intolerable, and apathetic.
How can someone who has the authority to take five minutes out of his time to edit meeting minutes not do so, with the only excuse offered being that "the constitution does not require anyone to approve the minutes because we are not forced to do so"?
If this is someone who is interested in representing students at Arizona State University, it seems that my peers and I should look to another candidate who is trusted. Even if Mr. Bowyer does not write the meeting minutes, as the president of this club and establishment, he should be doing everything in his power to ensure that minutes are inoffensive and professional, especially when they are made public as a way to communicate his club’s recent efforts and actions.
Since transparency is a priority in his upcoming campaign for Undergraduate Student Government president, I do not see how anyone could trust that this callous individual would accurately represent their voice, as his past efforts have shown lack of morality and responsibility.
This is surely a sign of poor character and terrible things to come if he continues to be a voice for the student body.
