Tempe Police reported the following incidents Monday:
- A 51-year-old Phoenix man was arrested on suspicion of first-degree trespassing on the corner of University Drive and Roosevelt Street in Tempe at approximately 4:07 a.m. on April 5, according to a police report.
An investigation revealed the man had entered a residence located at the 600 block of West Ninth Street in Tempe through an open window, police reported.
The male resident was woken by a loud noise and discovered the suspect standing in his bedroom at the end of the bed with one foot still outside the window, according to the report.
The resident asked who it was, and the man replied, “It’s me, Phil,” police reported.
The resident yelled at him to leave and called the police, causing the man to flee, according to the report.
Police found the man not far from the residence and transported him to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and held, police reported.
The resident said that he had never seen the man before, according to the report.
- An unknown person or persons committed theft at the Physical Sciences A Wing building on ASU’s Tempe campus between approximately 12:15 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. March 29, according to a police report.
The person or persons stole a longboard from the hallway of the Math Testing Center located in the building, police reported.
The total estimated loss is $380, according to the report.
- An unknown person or persons committed second-degree burglary at the Hayden East building on the Tempe campus between 6:50 p.m. and 7 p.m. March 29, according to a police report.
The person or persons entered a room of the dorm and stole a laptop, police reported.
The total estimated loss is $1,500, according to the report.
There are no leads or suspects at this time, police reported.
- An unknown person or persons committed theft at the Hayden Library on the Tempe campus between approximately 10:30 p.m. and 10:45 p.m. March 28, according to a police report.
The person or persons stole a cell phone valued at $50, police reported.
The Tempe Police Department has an open investigation regarding lewd messages originating from the cell phone that may provide suspect information, according to the report.
