Tempe Police reported the following incidents Wednesday:
- A 51-year-old Phoenix woman was arrested on suspicion of possession of dangerous drugs, drug paraphernalia, marijuana and bringing contraband into a secure facility on the 2000 block of South Mill Avenue at approximately 11:22 Saturday, according to a police report.The woman was originally arrested for possession of marijuana and transported to Tempe City Jail to be booked, police reported.
Upon entering the facility, a strip search of the woman was conducted and an officer discovered a small silver flashlight in her vagina, according to the report.
The officer removed the flashlight and discovered a baggie of a white crystal substance inside, police reported.The woman admitted that it was meth and was booked and released, according to the report.
- A 20-year-old transient man was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct, possession of drug paraphernalia, marijuana and dangerous drugs on the 1700 block of East University Drive at approximately 5:35 p.m. Monday, according to a police report.The man was contacted leaving a McDonald’s and heading toward a 7-11 after police received numerous calls from patrons of the McDonald’s about the man holding a baton and threatening to kill people, police reported.
When contacted, the man was holding a collapsible baton in his right hand that police commanded him to drop, according to the report.The man followed directions to sit down and was detained without incident, police reported.
A victim at the McDonald’s reported the suspect had approached him outside the McDonald’s and asked for spare change, police reported.When the victim ignored the suspect, the man threatened to harm him and began yelling incoherent statements at him, according to the report.
The suspect then took out a baton and began swinging it as he walked away and continued to yell, police reported.
The victim went into the McDonald’s to call police and while waiting, the man hit his baton against the window outside the dining area, according to the report.
A search of the man revealed a glass container containing marijuana, a glass container containing spice and a metal pipe in his jacket, police reported.
The man was booked and held in Tempe City Jail, according to the report.
