CAREFUL NOT TO FALL
(In response to the Oonagh McQuarrie’s Aug. 1 column, “Sheen is crazy, not funny.”)
Your argument is disjointed. On one hand you say that America’s propensity to laugh at celebrities’ shortcomings is wrong, but then you contradict yourself by saying that you too thought Charlie Sheen’s insanity was funny.
Meanwhile, you claim to be disconnected from pop culture, yet you had a Charlie Sheen soundboard on your phone.
And then, on top of everything else, you say that we need to help Charlie Sheen when you spent the entire article talking about how people noticing him at all is an atrocity.
If you’re going to get on your high horse, you need to be careful not to fall off and hit your head on the ground in the middle of your ride.

The campus is packed, students are shaking off their end-of-summer’s euphoria hangover and teachers emptied office printers by printing their syllabi. Welcome back, Sun Devils.
You are holding in your hands the guide to everything that is ASU. As the semester progresses, we will be covering stories that matter to the students of ASU.
But our paper wouldn’t be complete without you. If you have concerns about things on campus or want to draw attention to an issue that matters to you, send us a letter to the editor at letters.editor@asu.edu. Letters should be 250 words of less.
