ASU Police assisted the Tempe Police Department Friday in apprehending a theft suspect on the Tempe campus.

Police set up a perimeter around the Language and Literature building after an ASU officer spotted a person matching the suspect's description, ASU Police Cmdr. Jim Hardina said.

A tweet was sent out by ASU Police at around noon describing the suspect as a black man wearing a blue shirt and white hat.

Hardina said authorities apprehended the suspect at about 12:30 p.m. near Old Main, and there were no injuries.
