Tempe Police reported the following incidents Tuesday:
- A Tempe man was arrested on suspicion of robbery after reportedly stealing $20 from a pizza delivery driver Sept. 7 at The Vue apartments near Apache Boulevard and Rural Road, according to a police report. The man told police the pizza delivery driver owed him money, according to the report. The driver delivered a pizza to the man’s apartment at The Vue around 8:25 p.m., according to the report. When the man paid for the pizza, he recognized the driver as a person who owed him $300, according to the report. The man demanded the money while cornering the driver in the hallway, police reported. The man threw the driver’s pizza oven bag into the apartment and pushed the driver into the wall until he surrendered $20 to the man, according to the report. The man pushed the driver into the ground causing a gash in his head, police reported. When the man was arrested, he said $150 of the loan had been repaid and the stolen $20 was in his wallet, according to the report. The man was booked on suspicion of robbery at the Tempe City Jail, police reported.
- Two men and two women were arrested Thursday on suspicion of drug possession in a parking lot near Third Street and Mill Avenue, according to a police report. A Tempe Police officer smelled a strong marijuana odor emanating from the only car in the parking lot around 2:30 a.m., according to the report. As the officer approached the car, he observed one of the passengers light a marijuana pipe and pass it to another passenger, according to the report. Upon searching the car, the officer found a useable quantity of marijuana in the center console and a second pipe, according to the report. The men and women were booked into Tempe City Jail and released pending the drug charges, according to the report.
