OH NO! BIG GOVERNMENT!
(In response to the Oct. 17 editorial, “Vote with the dollar.”)
Reading this editorial I noticed a glaring error. The writer of the article mentioned Bank of America beginning to charge a $5 a month fee for debit cards and called it an “abuse of corporate power.”
The author might like to place blame where blame is due and realize that this is, once again, an issue of the government placing too much regulation on companies and that regulation passes along more fees to the average consumer.
This is part of the Dodd-Frank financial overhaul law. This law in specific is called the Durbin Amendment. So please, protest the government regulation if you are going to protest anything. The government doesn't need this much power.

MORE RAIL PLEASE!
(In response to the Oct. 13 editorial, “Tucson trip.”)
As a resident of the downtown Phoenix area and student at ASU, the idea of a passenger rail to Tucson from Phoenix is very exciting.
Personally, I would use the train to see my friends that attend UA. Passenger rail would create job opportunities and could be designed to be environmentally friendly.
I really hope that this exciting possibility becomes a reality.
We need to show public support for passenger rail from Phoenix to Tucson, so I encourage my fellow ASU students to make sure that they let the Arizona Department of Transportation know that we need better transportation options, including passenger rail.
