Nine football players awarded conference honors


The Pac-12 honored nine ASU Sun Devils when the conference unveiled its All-Pac-12 teams on Monday.

Seniors Garth Gerhart and Clint Floyd were joined by junior wide receiver Jamal Miles on the second team while seniors Gerell Robinson, Dan Knapp, Jamaar Jarrett, Bo Moos and Colin Parker joined junior Cameron Marshall as honorable mentions.

Robinson and Marshall each had career years for the Sun Devils. Marshall rushed for 1,038 yards and 18 touchdowns while Robinson led the Sun Devils in receiving with 64 receptions, 1,156 yards and six touchdowns.

Parker was second on the team with 67 tackles. He also recorded two and a half sacks and recovered two fumbles.

Junior linebacker Vontaze Burfict, who was considered a candidate for the National Defensive Player of the Year Award in the preseason, was not mentioned on any of the lists.

The Stanford Cardinal were also prevalent on the list as junior quarterback Andrew Luck was named the Offensive Player of the Year and David Shaw was named the Coach of the Year.
