Police Beat: Nov. 22


Tempe Police reported the following incidents Monday:

  • A 36-year-old Gilbert man was arrested Wednesday at South Juniper Street and East Libra Drive on suspicion of residential burglary, according to a police report.A resident inside her bedroom heard the man break the glass of the back door with his shoe, police reported.She heard the man open the front door and leave as she ran back to her bedroom to call Tempe Police, according to the report.

    Police searched the area and found the man fleeing, police reported.

    When police questioned the man he did not have a valid reason to be in the area and after a search of his person officers found small pieces of glass powder on the bottom of his shoe, which matched a shoe print on a piece of glass from the door that was still intact, according to the report.

    The man was arrested and transported to Tempe City Jail, police reported.

  • A 34-year-old Phoenix man was arrested Nov. 15 at the 2000 block of North 35th Street on suspicion of aggravated assault, according to a police report.On Oct. 22 the man punched two co-workers in the face several times at a Walgreens at the 8000 block of South River Parkway, according to the report.One of the men received a concussion and a nasal fracture and the other needed stitches for a nasal laceration, according to the report.

    After the fight, the man fled and wasn’t located until Nov. 15 at his brother’s apartment, police reported.

    The man was arrested and transported to Tempe City Jail, according to the report.
