Tempe Police reported the following incidents Tuesday:

 

  • A 28-year-old Tempe man and 31-year-old Mesa man were arrested Tuesday on suspicion of shoplifting and possession of drug paraphernalia, marijuana and dangerous drugs at the 1800 block of East Rio Salado, according to a police report.One man was seen opening packaging and exiting the store to hand the packaging to the other man, according to the report.Target security saw the men walking through the store, according to the report. They saw the 28-year-old man hide a digital camera and a small speaker.Upon exiting the store, the two men were searched and police found a black digital camera and a small speaker as well as marijuana, marijuana “spice” and drug paraphernalia, police reported.

    The men were arrested, transported and booked into Tempe City Jail according to the report.

  • A 35-year-old Mesa man was arrested Monday on multiple outstanding warrants after involvement in a traffic accident on Rural and Broadway roads, according to a police report. The warrants included theft and credit card fraud, according to the report. The man was evaluated by Tempe St. Luke’s Hospital for neck and back pain and was released with a clean bill of health, according to the report.The man was arrested, transported and booked into Tempe City Jail, police reported.
  • A 23-year-old Phoenix man was arrested Monday at a Motel 6 at the 1700 block of South Priest Drive on suspicion of marijuana, dangerous drug and drug paraphernalia possession, police reported. Police were contacted about the smell of marijuana coming from his room, according to the report. The man complied when he was asked to exit the room and sit on the balcony, police reported.When he stood up, police found a methamphetamine pipe where the man had been sitting, according to the report.

    The man admitted to ownership of the pipe and a substance found in his pocket later identified as methamphetamine, police reported.

    The man then admitted to being an addict and smoking the drug daily, according to the report.

    The man was arrested, transported and booked into Tempe City Jail, police reported.
