- A 37-year-old transient man was arrested Tuesday at the 800 block of South Rural Road on suspicion of marijuana possession, according to a police report. Citizens contacted police, describing the man as behaving erratically at a Beverly Hills Hand Car Wash, harassing customers while smoking marijuana, according to the report. Police approached the man in the parking lot and saw him dancing and acting strangely, police reported. The man attempted to hide a small baggie containing a green, leafy substance in his hand, which was later identified as marijuana, according to the report.Witnesses said the man had been offering the marijuana to passing students and citizens while smoking on the property, police reported.The man was arrested, transported and booked into Tempe City Jail, but released pending charges, according to the report.
- A 25-year-old transient man was arrested Monday at an apartment complex on the 200 block of East Broadway Road on suspicion of possession of dangerous drugs and paraphernalia, according to a police report. The man was stopped as a passenger in a vehicle where another passenger matched the description of a burglary suspect, though he was later cleared, police reported. The 25-year-old man was discovered to have outstanding warrants for his arrest, according to the report. When the man was arrested and searched, police found heroin, as well as drug paraphernalia, on him, according to the report.Without provocation, the man stated he used “the little black stuff” and “it does horrible things to people’s lives,” police reported.The man was arrested, transported and booked into Tempe City Jail for outstanding warrants and released pending drug charges, according to the report.
